We have a destination! Hannah, Sully, Ira, Gabriel, Esther, and I will be heading to Montana on September 5 and serving there for the next 4 months!
This whole situation has been a complete God-thing. A few weeks ago, we didn’t have a destination and our leader, Jill, told us to fervently pray that somewhere would open up. God would not put together this team without knowing exactly where we would be going.
The next week on our zoom call, Jill told us that we were going to Montana!
I am so excited to go serve in Missoula, Montana, with our 2 leaders, Bob and Deanne Reid. They are so wonderful and encouraging! Cru has many ministry opportunities for us in Missoula. We will also be surrounded by mountains, so that’s a plus :).
So far, here are some of the things we will be doing:
Working with students at the University of Montana
Serving at a high school in Missoula.
Serving refugees
Doing team training
I am so thankful for God’s faithfulness in providing the perfect ministry opportunities. As our leader Bob said, “This isn’t ‘Plan B.’ this was God’s ‘Plan A’ all along.”
Please be praying that God would be glorified no matter what happens. Ultimately, this isn’t about us. It’s about denying ourselves, picking up our cross, and following Him. This year is definitely going to look different than what I’d imagined. But if there is one thing I’ve learned in 18 years, it's that God’s plan is a thousand times better than anything I could imagine. Even if it looks completely different than what I thought.
