Month 7 Update

We are officially half-way through month 7 of gap year! Thankfully, time has been going by very slowly since being here in Springfield.

There have been so many amazing stories that happened since being here, I wish I could sit down and write about all of them. For now, I will just share some of the highlights of what we have been doing. God has blessed us so much this semester. It's crazy to think we only have 6 weeks left in Missouri! God has been working in the hearts of everyone on the team and the people we come in contact with.

Below is just some examples of what my ministry partner, Gabriel, and I do on campus. The other people on the gap year team are also split up into pairs and are doing the same ministry as us!

- Since being here we have gotten to start the KVC(Key Volunteer Challenge) with over 100 people. We ended up only finishing the KVC with 13 people who were actually interested in sharing their faith regularly. The KVC is when we go up to random people in the student centers at universities and ask them if they love Jesus and want to start a Christian movement on their campus. If they say no, we move on to the next person. If they say yes, we continue to ask them more about their vision on how to reach people, and how we can come alongside them to help. If we continue to meet up with them, and they start sharing their faith regularly, then we call them a Key Volunteer.

This challenge has been one of my favorite outreaches to do on campus. It is really encouraging to meet other believers on campus and get to encourage them to share their faith.

- We have also gotten to have around 30 spiritual conversations. Most of these conversations led to gospel presentations. It is so amazing getting to share the gospel with people who have either never heard the gospel or didn’t understand it the first time they heard it.

God has once again provided such a meaningful and special place for us to be. In the midst of doubt and confusion about where we would be spending this second semester, he was already setting up the perfect place for us to be.

- One of my favorite ways to share the gospel and hear people's stories is through the Perspective Table at Missouri State University. Some of the Cru staff, Kelly and his wife Amanda, set up a table in the student center at MSU. Here, they ask people if they want to go through the Perspective cards at the table and win prizes, such as a gift card. The Perspective cards ask numerous questions about the nature of God, purpose of life, human nature, Jesus, and how they find spiritual truth. This gives the other person an opportunity to share what they believe, and gives us an opportunity to listen and share Jesus with them!

Here are some specific prayer requests over the next month!

- Leadership overnight. This will be a weekend where all the Cru leaders, or potential leaders, come together to align our visions for how we want to impact our campuses for Jesus. Pray that we would get 50 leaders at the retreat, and that God would be changing lives and working in the hearts of the students who will be there!

-Cru Vision Dinner. This is an evening where Cru shares their vision for Southern Missouri and raises the necessary support to do this.

- Evangelism and Key Volunteer Challenge. Continued prayers for our conversations with people on campus. Pray that we would get to have fruitful conversations with people and be able to present the gospel in every conversation. Pray that we would find more leaders who love Jesus and want to share their faith!

In Christ,

Dani
